Sipah Salar e Aqeeda e Tajdar e Khatam e Nabuwat blesses all attendees with Dum and Dua (Spiritual insufflation and supplication). This is a collective Dum and Dua for everyone, and there is no discrimination among the attendees based on cast, creed, economic/social status or religion. Generally, Dum and Dua begin after the Zohar Nimaz (afternoon prayer). Since a very large number of visitors and devotees reach the Aastana Shareef on both days, the Dum and Dua is done in batches, so that patients and visitors who arrive earlier may head back to their homes earlier as well.

Dum Process:

Each Dum has three parts;

• Part 1: each attendee or person taking part in the Dum is to place their right hand on their forehead and their left hand at the back of their head. The eyes should not be covered during the dum. Even if a visitor is only accompanying a patient, in the first part of the Dum he/she must place their hand around their own head.
• Part 2: in the second part of the dum, each person taking part in the Dum is to place their right hand over whatever body part that ails them e.g. stomach, over the kidneys, over their eyes. At this point, those visitors with accompanying patients or small children who couldn’t manage the first part of the Dum by themselves, the accompanying visitors should place their right hand on the patient’s or child’s forehead. 
• Part 3: in the last part of the Dum, visitors who have brought any item to have insufflation / Dum performed on it for blessings and such as water, surma/eye kohl, oregano seeds (ajwain) are to raise these items, sealed in their packing. Additionally, if they want to call someone who couldn’t visit personally for dum, they can take them on call to participate in the 3rd part of the Dum.
